Happy Holidays!

Another year has come and gone.  And, it was a hoot.  Ted parted company with Unisys around June this year and we decided to have the summer of fun!  We traveled almost every other week to some great place to have fun.  Emily even mentioned one time that she had not slept in her own bed for three weeks.  Some of the great destinations were Niagara Falls, Boston, Salem, Schlitterbahn Water Parks, Savannah, San Antonio, the beach, numerous amusement parks, and a great game convention in Louisville.  We highly recommend you give this idea a go one summer.

Jane has decided to stay out of the job market for the foreseeable future.  She spends her time volunteering at school, gardening, decorating, shopping, and taking the dogs for their daily frolic in the woods.  She has never been happier!  Maybe except for the fact that she is still with me.  We hit our 25th year wedding anniversary this year.

Emily got her white belt in Aikido earlier this year.  A grueling schedule in 10th grade is keeping her very busy as well as her Key Club and guitar playing.  Emily also went back to Camp Merrimac this summer for two weeks of horseback riding, rock climbing, archery, canoeing, well you get the idea, some folks get all the fun.

Doug is into computer games, board games, and Lego robotics.  His Lego robotics team just one a first place and a second place in the State competition.  Basically, you must build and program a robot to accomplish specified tasks. We are very proud of the team!  Doug was the John Adams Middle School band field commander this year and he looks rather dapper in a tux.  Doug is still an avid coaster fan and we did manage three or four amusement parks this summer for the speed, Gs, and some upside down action.

Ted now works for the State of West Virginia. After the summer of fun, Ted got a call from the Governor asking him to head the Public Employees Insurance Agency. After his senate confirmation in November, Ted is officially a political state appointee.  Who would have ever thought?  He has quite an uphill battle facing an $8 billion unfunded liability for the state.

On a personal note, Ted is still passionate about board games and had his first board game, Silk Road, published this year by Z-Man Games.  Two more games are planned for 2008 so keep your eyes open.

We wish everyone good health and a happy holiday season!  If you are ever close, please stop in for a visit.
